Every event feeds a need.

WITH THE HELP of sponsors and volunteers, Second Harvest organizes a series of events that raise money to help provide free fresh food for the most vulnerable people in our city.

In addition, there are some wonderful people who take it upon themselves to host their own fundraising events and donate the proceeds -- whether food or financial donations -- to Second Harvest.

All of these events are very important to Second Harvest. They help keep our trucks on the road, and allow us to continue feeding those in need.

Community Events

For any Second City performance ticket purchased between Feb 1-25 under promo code "HARVEST," Second City will donate $5 of the ticket price to Lunch Money Day. The offer is valid for Sun, Tues, Wed or Thurs performances until March 9.

  • Thursday, February 25 - McVeigh's 'Comedy Above the Pub - 1st anniversary show'

Comedian Todd Van Allen hosts his second benefit show for Lunch Money Day with Derek Forgie. Don't miss this great line-up of performers who are donating their time and talent to the cause! $5 at the door, 50-50 draw, $3 drink specials. McVeigh's Irish Pub, 124 Church Street.

Does your child have a birthday coming up? Teach them about supporting a meaningful cause by organizing an ECHOage party for them and donate half the money raised to Second Harvest. Lunch Money Day

HOW CAN YOU make a difference over lunch? It's easy. On Lunch Money Day, simply  donate the equivalent of what you would usually spend on lunch to Second Harvest. For every $5 donation, Second Harvest is able to provide enough fresh food for 10  nutritious meals for those who are hungry in our community. Lunch Money Day 2009 was a huge success! Toronto Taste

THE ORIGINAL must-attend event for gourmands, Toronto Taste is an evening that pairs cuisine and compassion, treating guests to extraordinary samplings prepared by the city's finest chefs and delicious beverages provided by top vintners. This one-night gourmet graze, which kicks off the summer season, is an unforgettable evening of glamour, indulgence and extravagance in support of Second Harvest. Host Your Own Event

   

SECOND HARVEST RELIES on community support. How can you help? Run a fundraising event and name Second Harvest your charity of choice. It can be as easy as organizing a pizza party, a dress-down day or having a silent auction or raffle. Every dollar raised provides two healthy meals to the men, women and children who depend on our services.
