On Wednesday, May 14, Nathan Phillips Square was filled with energy and community spirit as teams gathered for the annual Second Harvest Truck Pull Challenge. Groups of ten took turns pulling a 20,000-pound delivery truck across the square — all to support Second Harvest’s mission to keep food where it belongs: on plates and out of landfills.
The 2025 challenge was more than a test of physical strength; it was a testament to the power of community. Three trucks lined up and teams got ready to compete head-to-head in a spirited tournament-style race!
Impact in Numbers
Thanks to the incredible efforts of all participants and supporters, this year's Truck Pull Challenge raised enough funds to provide more than 588,500 meals to Canadians experiencing food insecurity.
Celebrating Our Champions
Congratulations to everyone who took part — and a special shoutout to our wave winners:
These times highlight the teamwork and determination behind every pull!
City Support
Mayor Olivia Chow joined city councillors and union members to pull a 20,000 lb truck alongside community teams, showing their full support for Second Harvest’s mission to keep food on plates and out of landfills.
