Honouring the Best in Food Rescue at the 2026 Food Rescue Awards

On Feb. 25, we gathered for Second Harvest’s fourth annual Food Rescue Awards to celebrate a remarkable year of impact with the people who made it possible.  

Together in 2025, we moved more than 95.3 million lbs of surplus food from 10,000 donors to 5,000 non-profit partners across Canada — helping make an extraordinary 268,000 meals possible each day.

With 53 recipients across 15 award categories, the evening honoured the people behind those numbers: the businesses, organizations and individuals across our network working to ensure food reaches communities from coast to coast to coast.

We were especially proud to spotlight 14 non-profit partners who work tirelessly every day to ensure rescued food is distributed through dignified, community-driven programs that nourish individuals and families across the country.

Guiding us through the evening was The Morning Show’s Morgan Hoffman, whose energy and warmth set the tone for a celebration rooted in community, collaboration and shared purpose.
