Lunches that Lift Spirits: Feeding Our Future Is Back

Summer is here — and with it, Second Harvest’s Feeding Our Future program is back in action, ensuring that children and youth have access to free, healthy lunches every day.

Last summer, we delivered 36,263 lunches to 1,450 kids at summer camps. Read how driver ambassador Fasika Adane became a daily hero to campers across the city.

This year, we’re returning with the same deep commitment to keeping food on plates as we partner with camps across the GTA to make lunchtime a source of connection and comfort.

At Taking Kids Out of Poverty (TKOP), a long-time program partner, the impact is clear.

“The program's impact on our camp and campers has been profound, allowing us to provide children and youth in low-income communities with consistent access to healthy, high-quality, nutritious meals,” shared Mikael Khalam, founder of TKOP.

“This not only supports their physical well-being but also enhances their ability to fully participate in and enjoy camp activities. By addressing a fundamental need, the program helps create a more positive and inclusive environment, where every child can thrive and focus on learning, playing and growing.”

Your support makes it all possible. From the volunteers who prepare and pack each sandwich, to the drivers who deliver them, to the donors who fund every meal — thank you.

But the need continues to grow. Across Canada, over 10 million people are experiencing food insecurity, including 2.5 million children.

Contributions like yours keep vital programs like Feeding Our Future running, providing nutritious meals all summer and helping children stay healthy, active and engaged throughout the day.

Donate today and help deliver healthy food to those who need it, this summer and beyond.
