Stronger Together: Highlights from the 2026 Second Harvest Truck Pull Challenge, presented by FanDuel

The forecast for Wednesday, May 15, called for rain in Toronto all day, yet sunny dispositions and determined attitudes prevailed, pushing the clouds aside as Nathan Phillips Square filled with energy, community spirit and teams gathering for the annual Second Harvest Truck Pull Challenge.‍

More than a test of physical strength, the Truck Pull Challenge is a celebration of community in action. Four Second Harvest delivery trucks lined up, ready for groups of ten to take turns pulling them across the square, in a tournament, all in support of Second Harvest’s mission to keep food where it belongs: on plates, not in landfills.

Impact in Numbers

Thanks to the incredible efforts of all participants and supporters, this year's Truck Pull Challenge has already raised enough funds to provide nearly 1 million meals and fundraising is open until the end of the month! There’s still time to support your favourite team.

City Support

Once again, Mayor Olivia Chow joined city councillors and union members to pull the Second Harvest truck alongside community teams, standing shoulder to shoulder in support of food rescue.‍
